Safe 03:02
I recall running with thorny feet saw houses glowing, radiating heat still I kept running as my feel bled till I saw the sun, burning red and now I'm sleeping, safe in the dirt and I am aching, but as long as I am feeling I can't be hurt as long as I am feeling I am not hurt I am not hurt

Morning 03:19
let's lie on our backs till morning, our skin pressed into the grass till wrens warble without warning, till jays flicker, flit and flash should I run now into the day should I sleep the time away should I become time herself and keep you safe and warm and well all I want is to remain thick like honey in your veins that pumps slowly through your days in their honey-drunken haze all I want is still and sleeping all earth shut-eye not-a-peeping only you and I left leaping safely in each other's keeping

Drunk Moon 04:52
I love the way your hand fits into mine Our fingers knitted, knotted, and tightly intertwined We saw the moon, she was swaying like she had too much wine Tilting her waxing head from side to side But even though drunken, she shone just as bright Bumbling blindly and casting unquestioning light And the drunken moon will come again soon! And I will be in your arms! In your arms, in your arms! (you are the sun and the moon and the sea and the sky and the stars and the earth below my feet, you are the sun and the grass and and the sea and the sky and the stars and the moon up above me) I love the way your thoughts are just like mine We’re stumbling dumbly, dewy-eyed and blind We saw the moon, she was swaying like she had too much wine Tilting her waxing head from side to side But even though drunken, she shone just as bright Bumbling blindly and casting unquestioning light (you are the sun and the moon and the sea and the sky and the stars and the earth below my feet, you are the sun and the grass and and the sea and the sky and the stars and the moon up above me repeated throughout chorus) And the drunken moon will come again soon! And I will be in your arms! In your arms, in your arms!

Don't Go 04:37
you are warmth in the coldest corners of a room By some magnificent gravity my eyes are drawn to you And all spaces filled are tender tall and true Borne up in waves of roiling wondrous blue And in the light your shoulders glowing gold Your sword in hand and vanquishing the cold And all dust and dirt are deemed endearing And glorified upon the hearing of your shining shining name Of your shining shining And the sacredness of silent spaces My fingers fumbling at my laces “Don’t go, don’t go.” And spinning on your kitchen floor To hold you close forevermore Don’t go, don’t go And though poetry may fade and pass All my heart can humbly ask Don’t go! I watched the sun through the window I watched the sun through the leaves I watched the sun on your shoulders I heard you breathe I heard your heart beating I pressed my head to your chest And I heard the doves mourning for suns that have set Don’t go

Naming 04:12
in the naming of all things you stood and said her holy name a word for beating wings of moths and softly glowing flame god bless the bravest tongues biting bramble without shame unflinching in the love they seek to proclaim I believe that one should know the names of all that one sees as sorrel sleeps in ditches or the titmice in the trees stand forth and name the bird that lies nestled neath your chest! and without shame shel''s stir and rise up from her rest god bless your sweet brave tongue and the love of which it sung the night you spoke the stars and the sky in which they're hung brave heart, bring light! and beat with all your might! and speak love's name on moonlit nights and the sweetest words I've ever heard spring from your sainted lips in crow-caw, cloves, and cardamom, careening out like ships I ask of you the names of birds and creatures of the ground and in that naming all the earth comes springing forth with sound to hold your hand and say your name and forget my own in time to be nameless in a universe of sparrow, finch, and pine to someday stand and speak with heart as brave and kind as your's to call by name and still unceasing waves upon the shores god bless your sweet brave tongue and the love of which it sung the night you spoke the stars and the sky in which they're hung brave heart, bring light! and beat with all your might! and speak love's name on moonlit nights

Atlas 02:50
am i all that i can carry on my back? bad skin and knees and a dirty canvas sack or am i all that surrounds me, my home, my room, my love, my family? my darling, dear, you shine through my skin with you i forget the body i'm in and all i am is glowing clear-sky blue singing ever singing of you i fear that when i do move away there'll be no one around for me to say to "i love you in a myriad of ways, a love which only springs and swell each day" my darling, dear, you shine through my skin with you i forget the body i'm in and all i am is glowing clear-sky blue singing ever singing of you

Swallows 03:42
swimming, my head upturned if I leaned back far enough I thought i saw the curve of the world and mosquitoes rested on white-washed walls and they perched there peacefully without biting at all and in the evening when we lay on our backs among swarms of swallows snatching gnats flights of birds dived by our heads inches from out grassy beds and the sky was black with beating wings the earth speaks loudest in tiny things! and we have come to take these things as signs a nosebleed and small hands, a taste of something more divine as stars are stitched in their embroidery frame all in the constant humming of your name
